Less was definitely more for this wedding at La Cala Golf & Spa Resort yesterday. The cake an understated, yet classic design was made in the more unusual hexagonal shape. The three tiers were decorated with cream sugar gerbera to compliment the pretty floral table centres. So simple yet all so very pretty.
Macy & Nathans’ wedding ceremony took place this beautiful evening, in the lush gardens of the Vinuela Hotel, as the sun was slowly setting over the picturesque Lake Vinuela.
Macy opted for a simple yet stunning cake decorated in lace embossed sugar and decorated with striking sugar hibiscus flowers in vibrant cerise and orange, creating a dramatic effect.
This weekend our wedding services took us to the charming boutique hotel – Fuente del Sol a venue that enjoys an elevated position commanding some absolutely stunning views over much of Axarquia and beyond, yet only a short distance from the town of El Torcal.
This was the setting for the beautiful wedding of Alex and Ian where we were on hand to create a wedding brimming with love, romance and rustic charm.
Alex chose pretty succulent floral table centres, rustic table plans a vintage candy cart and a cupcake display decorated with sugar succulents to compliment the floral arrangements.
Love was certainly flourishing at the wedding of Lorna & Alan earlier this week, where the wedding theme centred around the popular ‘Love Hearts’ sweets.
Lorna chose a purple colour scheme that was used to bring together her cake and other wedding decorations.
The middle tier of the wedding cake was decorated with Love Hearts to compliment Lornas wedding theme. The bride also chose cupcakes for the younger guests, they too were topped off with these charming sweets!
The pretty floral table centres were supplied by Shona from Bunches florist.
Casa de Los Bates played host to this pretty wedding yesterday; Where the bride chose a cheese tower for her wedding cake. The cheese selection was made up of a choice of locally sourced cheeses, which included manchego cheeses ranging from mild to mature, together with brie and a soft cheese option. For the lowest tier we chose a particular favourite of mine – a rosemary infused manchego, creamy & tasty with a hint of the rosemary – quite delicious! – a choice highly recommended in any cheese tower wedding cake. The cheeses were accompanied with some of our delightful home made chutneys. The cake was decorated to co-ordinate with the natural wedding theme using fresh roses and gypsophila.
The venue was decorated again using hessian and gypsophila to stunning effect, to create a rustic fresh ‘feel’ in the wedding salon.

This pretty lace effect cake and co-ordinating wedding fans were the choice of one of our brides at the weekend. The top two tiers of this cake were decorated to depict the lace design in the brides wedding dress. The lower tier remain plain, this I think enhanced the lace design of the upper tiers.
Natural sandlewood fans were given out as wedding favours. They too were trimmed in lace, another pretty choice to compliment this wedding theme.
Fans make excellent wedding favours, that are hugely popular, particularly here in Spain where we enjoy so much lovely sunshine. If these are something you may be interested in please visit our website http://www.weddingcakesinspain.co.uk for details.
This weekend we discovered yet another beautiful venue as we were asked to provide a wedding cake for the wedding of Morgane and Nico at the stunning Cortijo Sabila. The cortijo is nestled in the foothills just to the north east of Antequera within easy access of the M-45 making it a superb setting for any wedding or celebration.
The bride chose a 4 tier cake made from a selection of our delicious flavours – chocolate mint, coconut with a lime cream and raspberry & white chocolate. The cake was piped on alternate tiers with pearl strings and decorated with pretty sugar flowers that cascaded down the front.
